David Fifield is a fifth grade math teacher at Margaret B. Henderson Elementary School in Dallas Independent School District. David has been with DISD since December of 1998 and at Henderson since August of 2002. During this time, he has served in many campus leadership roles: Campus Instructional Leadership Team, Lead Teacher, Curriculum Coordinator, Accelerated Mathematics Instruction Coordinator, Partners in Education Liaison, Language Proficiency Assessment Committee Chairperson, and Mentor for student teachers and teachers new to the campus.

David was born in Michigan and lived there until he joined the Armed Forces. After serving three years in the Army, he moved to Texas to attend school. David has an Associate of Applied Arts from the Art Institute of Dallas, a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M Commerce, and a Master of Bilingual Education from Southern Methodist University.

David has always enjoyed traveling. Currently, most of his trips include scenic routes for riding his motorcycle. He also enjoys time with family, friends, and his dog and cat. David prefers to be outdoors whenever possible; reading, gardening, walking. The activity is less important than the location.
