Temesghen has been teaching Math and Algebra-I at J. L. Long Middle School for the last three years. He has served students as a POD leader, a lead member of the Foundation’s Committee, which is responsible for drafting campus wide policies, and also as the head of the Math Department. Additionally, as an active member of his campus’ Instructional Leadership Team, he works diligently to create an environment in which all students are able to realize their full potential.

Prior to joining the Dallas Independent School District, Temesghen worked as a Research Assistant in microbiology and biomedical laboratories and served the city of Dallas as a Water Chemist. By building on his prior experience, Temesghen believes in the value of data and research, and as a professional educator he regularly seeks out peer reviewed research papers and books in order to guide his work and further his understanding.

Temesghen was born and raised in Eritrea, East Africa, until he moved to the United States in 1999. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry / Mathematics from the University of New Mexico. He enjoys hiking, playing soccer, and reading a wide spectrum of books, especially biographies of the founding fathers and books that address the socioeconomic issues of our time. His favorite times are with his wife and two children.
