Heather Holland is a Teach for America 2009 Charter Corps member here in Dallas. She began teaching at Nancy J. Cochran Elementary School in the southwestern area of Oak Cliff, where she led her students to 2 years of academic growth all 3 years in the classroom, and had the honor of being visited by Former First Lady Laura Bush for Teach for America Week 2010. This upcoming year, she will be transitioning to L.V. Stockard Middle School, where she will be teaching 7th grade Reading and Language Arts.
Prior to joining Teach for America, Heather attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she received a Bachelors of Science in Advertising and graduated with honors in the spring of 2009.
Heather is a Dallas native, and a graduate of Bryan Adams High School in Dallas ISD. She resides in downtown Dallas with her rescue puppy. Aside from teaching, Heather enjoys samba, trying new restaurants, and visiting her family in Brazil.
